Consider two hypothetical banks, each receiving AED10 billion of additional deposits. The allocations below are illustrative and do not describe UAE institutions.

Both banks obtain the same deposit inflow, but their additional private lending differs by AED4 billion. The difference can reflect risk preferences, capital constraints, borrower applications, or the return on alternative assets. Deposits alone cannot identify which mechanism is responsible.
Even the private-credit line needs further division. Lending to an existing property investor, working capital for an exporter, and finance for new machinery have different effects on demand and future productive capacity. A broad credit aggregate cannot establish their relative importance without sector and purpose data.
This accounting example is not a money-multiplier estimate. Banks also create deposits when lending and operate within capital, liquidity, settlement, and risk constraints. The table simply demonstrates alternative balance-sheet responses to a specified funding event; it does not claim that deposits must arrive before every loan is made.
Deposit concentration can affect the stability of an otherwise strong funding aggregate. A bank whose balances depend heavily on a small number of institutional customers faces a different withdrawal profile from one with broadly distributed operational deposits. The assessment should identify concentration and behavioral maturity without assuming that a reported legal maturity fully describes the funds' likely persistence.
Cross-border banking groups introduce another allocation question. Liquidity can be held or deployed across entities subject to legal and regulatory constraints. Consolidated group strength does not establish that every local subsidiary can access funds immediately. For UAE lending conditions, the relevant evidence concerns the resident balance sheet, available transfers, and the capital and liquidity obligations applying to that entity. Those details help distinguish an apparent system-wide surplus from the resources accessible to a particular lender.
